Do androids dream of electric adventure? A lunar globe on rollers provides the setting for the quixotic quest of a one-footed robot that believes it is on the moon searching for extraterrestrial life: what Roombas daydream they are doing during their quotidian meanderings around your living room. For this robot the delusion is complete. While its only sensor is a range-finder in a half-wiffle-ball satellite dish, anything that it detects is labeled a grand discovery in its little electronic mind and it turns quickly to hurry towards it.
