Stuttering Magpie Machine No. 1, an autonomous shadow puppet that is trying to beckon gallery visitors to its nest in the woods. It speaks a human language but does so through its own alphabet rendered in shadows. To most, it is perceived as nothing more than a gyrating assemblage of paper and wire, its pleading invisible and unheeded.
